Lost Dog - Looking for Stormy

I saw this on Facebook tonight.  My heart breaks so much for animals.  I wanted to share with you. It is my meager attempt at helping find Stormy.

This dogs owner died traveling from northern California to Winnemucca. The family is grieving the loss and would like to get their dog back. Unknown where the dog got out of the car, no chip, collar and tags still in vehicle at time of death. Much loved. Here are the phone numbers (712)-579-6263 or 541-482-1441 please call with any sightings, this dog could be in N. California or Nevada Female, 6 years, intact but never had a litter. She is a Landseer Newfoundland. Please share.

In the comments of this photo post was, "Here is the original post for Stormy: http://ricknbaby0076.blogspot.com/2013/01/looking-for-stormy-please-help-us-mend.html " Some information from this post, "This post is a plea to anyone who may have seen Stormy and Jim on or about December 4, 2012. to contact this blog via comment section. The dog was last seen checking into a motel with her owner in Williams California, the motel owner remembers them.  Through phone conversations it's determined they may have driven towards San Francisco, after getting on the wrong freeway ramp.  There is no documentation of seeing the dog with Jim after Williams California, but they did leave together.  At some point Jim turned back towards Reno Nevada, heading for Winnemucca, Nv. He ended his journey on this earth in Winnemucca...."

(For those that don't know... I lived in Winnemucca for 26 years.  Maybe that is why this tugs at my heart so much.)

"Stormy is six years old, they have had her since she was 6 weeks old.  She has not been neutered, but she has never had a litter.  Many shelters don't even know what a Landseer Newfoundland looks like, and list them as Saint Bernard mixes.  She did weigh about 130 but may have lost weight due to conditions on the road. The family remains in Ashland Oregon, I have only stepped in to spread the word.  Stormy has 5 children and a widow who need her, we can get her home, yes we can.  Remember that breed rescues transport far and wide so please share......"

I see by the comments on this post that as of January 27, 2013 Stormy has not been found.

The info we have is all up there, but some of the comments have been helpful.

  2. You are welcome.
It doesn't seem like much, but it's all I can do.

I hope Stormy is found soon. The family has been through enough stress.

    Blessings,

    Toqua
