Apple Dishcloths |
Are you ready to see more?
Aren't these just adorable?

According to the pattern the Hanging Loop (stem) is supposed to be brown and you make the leaf separately and sew it on.

Ummmm... I didn't do that.
Apple Dishcloths |
With 2 strands of (color) B held tog, join with sl st to first sc at top of Apple. Ch 12. Join with sl st in same sp as first sl st. Fasten off."
I had the pattern printed out on a regular letter sized piece of paper and I used that paper to measure where I was going to fold the yarn back and create a starting loop. I measured one length and one width of the paper (that's 19 1/2 inches for those that carry a measuring tape around with them everywhere they go. :) Once measured I folded and created my starting loop. I joined with a sl st and following the pattern holding both strands I chained 12. I then joined with a sl st in the same space as the first sl st. Errrch! Stop! I did NOT fasten off at this point.
Since I was already connected I just went onto following the directions for the leaf.
"Leaf
With (color) C, ch 12.
1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in next ch.
1 tr in each of next 5 ch. 1 dc in next ch. 1 hdc in next ch. 3 sc in last ch. Working across opposite side of ch, 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in next ch. 1 tr in each of next 5 ch. 1 dc in next ch. 1 hdc in next ch. 2 sc in last ch. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Sew Leaf to Apple near Hanging Loop."

Yes, they are adorable? I love them
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing with the leaf! I thought it was crazy to fasten it off when you were already working on it. I like the yellow one!
