"Grandma I have a loose tooth..."

What would YOU do with these supplies?

(Yes, I know... I still have not made the guest bed... it's just not high on my to-do list.)

I was on the phone the other day with "D" and he told me "Grandma, I have a loose tooth."  It is his first.  I had emailed my daughter the photo of a tooth pillow that the long thread came up with.  My daughter showed it to "D" and he liked it... so... as soon as I finished my last project I got busy on the Monster Tooth Pillow.

I sewed the eyes on, sewed the itsy bitsy buttons on.  (I purposely made them off center... it's a MoNsTeR not a beauty pageant after-all!)

I decided at this point that the white teeth didn't show up very much, so I cut another set out of yellow and purposely off-set them when I sewed them on.

This is what the pillow looks like after adding the yellow teeth, pre-stuffing it...

and... post stuffing...

And what it looked like just before I put it into the Priority Mail box to mail it to "D"...

THANK YOU the long thread for sharing with us all!!

UPDATE!  EDITED SEPTEMBER 10, 2011

My daughter texted me a photo of the Monster Tooth Pillow being 'used'

Do you see the tooth there in the middle?

She said that "D" was SO EXCITED about losing his first tooth.  He'd been telling EVERYBODY!  And he was just as excited to be using his tooth pillow!  This tooth fairy (monster) was VERY generous!  His step-dad said that the first tooth is worth $15!  WOW!!  My tooth fairy (and my kids') was never that "rich".  "D" is VERY HAPPY to have lost his tooth!

I sure do love and miss that boy!

  3. Oh my goodness, Toqua -- I love this tooth-fairy pillow! What a lucky little granddaughter! I love the way the money fits right inside the jaws of the whimsical monster. Perfect!

Thank you so much for linking up to "A Little Birdie Told Me..." Tuesday!
